Selling Kelowna to Albertans

Last month I embarked on a sales mission to Alberta with Diane Wetherill from the Coast Capri Hotel.  We had 10 appointments and did drop-ins and introductions at an additional 15 companies in various industries; oil and gas, industrial, food service and clothing. Not all were familiar with Kelowna as a meeting destination so we had a great opportunity to educate them on options for their meetings, conferences, retreats and incentive travel here. But lately we’ve felt that this had its shortcomings – first of all, it meant that we had to save our news for a set distribution date. Self Guided – Studio & Farm Tours

Work is underway to develop the new 2012 Studio and Farm Tour. The program is a great opportunity to increase visitation at our unique studios, artisans, and farms.  Last season’s program promotion included cross referrals, articles written by media, and distribution of 80,000 brochures through our Visitor Centres on Harvey Avenue and at the Kelowna International Airport Kiosk.
