In total, 124 media attended the gatherings. These media were pre-screened by our partners of the Canadian Tourism Commission and TIAC, so each brought a unique skill set and portfolio of outlets to the table. My preparations for the trade show included researching each journalist who I was scheduled to meet with in order to prepare customized story angles for each appointment. In doing so, I brought many of Kelowna’s unique businesses, personalities, and settings along with me as pitch material. I look forward to bringing media from this trade show to your businesses as they secure assignments and travel plans to Kelowna.
Last week I was in Whitehorse for the 2012 GoMedia Canada trade show put on by the Canadian Tourism Commission and the Travel Industry Association of Canada. I have been regularly attending the GoMedia trade show every year as it is our chance to stay connected with great media contacts and to keep Kelowna top-of-mind. This year’s show was one of the best ever, and I held 29 appointments with Canadian and International media curious to learn more about Kelowna for the purposes of their story pitches and editorial calendars.
