Tourism Kelowna’s Pat Gappmayr along with Diane Wetherill from the Coast Capri Hotel, Kirsten Harrison from the Delta Grand Okanagan Resort & Conference Centre, Amber Hall from The Cove Lakeside Resort and Heather Robinson from Mission Hill Family Estate ensured that Kelowna was front and center during Canada Meet Week, April 7 – 11, 2014 in Toronto. Once the announcement of this inaugural line up of education, social events and interactive experiences was announced, Pat secured Kelowna sponsorships at four events throughout the week: Business Events Industry Coalition of Canada “The Zone” event, the Site (Society of Incentive and Travel Executives) Spring Social, CanSPEP (Canadian Society of Special Event Planners) Breakfast and the MPI (Meeting Planners International) National Meetings Industry Day luncheon.
The ability to have Kelowna front and centre all week long was priceless when one considers the importance of familiarity of brand when meeting planners shortlist destinations for their next meetings. Tourism Kelowna will continue to look for opportunities where we can educate planners on our destination, engage them in these social settings and make it easy for Kelowna to be chosen as the next destination for their meetings & events.
