The Meeting & Incentive Travel sales team has been host to three different associations all looking to hold their conferences in Kelowna in upcoming years. In April we hosted the Canadian Explosive Industry Association and they have now confirmed they will be holding their conference here in Kelowna in 2015. In May we welcomed the Canadian Organization of Medical Physicists who were looking at Kelowna for two different programs: their annual scientific meeting and their annual winter meeting. I am happy to report that their annual winter meeting is now booked for Kelowna in February of 2015. Finally in June, we welcomed a provincial association. We are imminently expecting distribution of their RFP for both their 2015 workshop and executive retreat/ board meeting for next May.

The BC Provincial Nominee Program PNP) is an economic immigration program designed to help BC meet its evolving labour market needs. The program is a tool for employers to attract and retain qualified foreign workers who have the skills and experience to contribute to BC’s economy.
On Wednesday, June 18, 2014 from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. PNP staff will be delivering a program information session in Kelowna. Participants will meet with decision-makers to learn about the PNP categories and requirements and how employers can use the program to attract and retain foreign workers for those positions that they cannot fill from the domestic labour pool.
