August was a busy month for Tourism Kelowna’s Pat Gappmayr. A blitz of sales activity in the Toronto market kicked off with Incentive Works – Canada’s largest trade show specifically for meeting planners, which takes place in Toronto. This year Tourism Kelowna attended the conference along with all the networking opportunities. Pat also supported our partners who opted to cooperatively exhibit in a Kelowna booth on the trade show floor. The Kelowna team comprised of Diane Wetherill from the Coast Capri, Kirsten Harrison from the Delta Grand Okanagan Resort & Conference Centre, Shelley Roslund from the Sheraton Four Points and Amber Hall from The Cove Lakeside Resort. The team chatted with approximately 108 planners that stopped by the booth. As always, Pat received a special invitation to attend the Wynford Incentives client event prior to the Incentive Works trade show which she shared with attending partners.
Immediately following Incentive Works, Pat attended the Financial Insurance and Conference Planners of Canada conference. Tourism Kelowna tested this niche market by purchasing an entry level sponsorship which gave us access to attend all the networking sessions. Pat felt the event offered great value and good opportunities to meet and develop relationships with the 56 meeting planners that attended.
This last week has taken Pat out of the office again, this time visiting Heller Productions Inc. and Communique Incentives. Both companies specialize in working with corporate and incentive travel. Pat hosted the nine staff at Heller Productions Inc., for lunch and spoke to them for about an hour. At Communique Incentives, Pat treated their seven staff to breakfast and again educated them on Kelowna and all we had to offer.
August was a busy month in Toronto and a great way to transition into the upcoming fall meeting and conference season in Kelowna.
