Beer Drinkers Rejoice as Gibbons Festival Comes to Kelowna

Waterfront Park is the main event site for the Great Okanagan Beer Festival

Waterfront Park is the main event site for the Great Okanagan Beer Festival

For decades, wine drinkers have spilled into Kelowna for events such as the Spring Okanagan Wine Festival.

Now beer drinkers can join in the fun.

Tourism Kelowna recruited Gibbons Festival and Events Co. to run the first-ever Great Okanagan Beer Festival (GOBeerFest on Twitter and Instagram) from May 7-9 in Kelowna, culminating with a sampling main event on May 9 at Waterfront Park.

Building on the initial success of its Whistler Village Beer Festival, Gibbons brings more than 40 breweries and hundreds of visitors to Kelowna for GOBeerFest.

Exclusive cask events and beer/brewing seminars attract visitors days ahead of the main event, proceeds from which go to KBAAD (K-Billie Artistic & Athletic Development).

Tickets for the GOBeerFest are on sale at www.gibbonsevents.com/great-okanagan-beer-festival/.
