‘Come to Play’ Sales Video Highlights Sports and Events

Kelowna Wine Half Marathon

‘Come to Play’ features events such as the Wine Country Half Marathon

‘Come to Play’ is an invitation to event planners from Tourism Kelowna, one that comes in the form of a new sales video.

This 30-second video was created using highlights from annual events such as Center of Gravity and Kelowna Wine Country Half Marathon, special events such as 2014 Skate Canada International and the Kelowna Rockets’ 2015 Western Hockey League playoffs, and many more.

It will be used to persuade event owners and producers to consider Kelowna as a host city.

Not only does ‘Come to Play’ capture Kelowna’s love for intense competition, but it inspires event planners and their participants to extend their stays and enjoy the many Kelowna area activities and attractions.

#MeetKelowna Hosts Food Tour in Vancouver

October Food Tour in Vancouver

Tourism Kelowna hosts meeting planners on a food tour in Vancouver at Hawksworth Restaurant.

Last week Tourism Kelowna hosted its second Kelowna Inspired Food Tour in Vancouver.  The evening brought together meeting planners with Tourism Kelowna staff as they toured around several Vancouver restaurants.  Each venue had a Kelowna connection – whether that be a former Kelowna Chef, or locally made spirits, wine, craft beer, or cider.

Chef Jesse Croy, Vice President of the Okanagan Chefs Association, joined Tourism Kelowna’s Julia Garner and Jennifer Horsnell with nine Vancouver based planners for an evening that showcased the great tastes of Kelowna meetings and conferences.

For more information about the food tour or to discuss Tourism Kelowna’s sales activities, please contact Jennifer Horsnell at jennifer@tourismkelowna.com or 250-861-1515 ext 205.

Help Shape the Direction of the City’s Public Art Program

Public art plays a major role in defining the brands of destinations an adding important depth to the visitor experience.   All major destinations have a robust public art program and the City of Kelowna is seeking public input to shape its program over the next 3 years.   We encourage tourism businesses to add their thoughts to the process through getinvolved.kelowna.ca between November 5, 2015 and November 27, 2015.
