Tourism Kelowna gifts cherries to meeting planners in Calgary and Toronto
Pat Gappmayr and Nicolle Gomez de Sousa, Tourism Kelowna’s Sales Managers in Toronto and Calgary respectively, recently brought a taste of Kelowna to their clients. Pat and Nicolle have been out on sales calls over the last few days delivering baskets of fresh Okanagan cherries to meeting planners. In their words, their clients have been eating up their visits, literally!

Tourism Kelowna’s Chris Lewis was selected as one of DMAI’s Top 30 Under 30
Every year Destination Marketing Association International (DMAI) recognizes thirty young people as future leaders of the international tourism industry. This year Tourism Kelowna’s Chris Lewis has been chosen as one of these 30 special recipients through the demonstration of his exceptional potential.
The 30 individuals were selected from 95 applicants and are all 30 years of age and under. The 2016 honourees hail from a variety of destinations and backgrounds, from National Tourism Bureaus such as Brand USA and the Bermuda Tourism Authority to city Destination Marketing Organizations in Texas, Georgia and of course Kelowna!
Chris will have his expenses covered to attend DMAI’s Annual Convention in Minneapolis this August and be recognized in front of the attendees. As well he will engage in professional development, volunteer and networking opportunities throughout 2016.
While we already knew Chris was a rockstar, we are proud to share his achievement.

Tourism Kelowna’s Pat Gappmayr and Kristi Contini from Grant Thornton enjoy a glass of Kelowna wine at a Kelowna themed dinner last night in Toronto.
Last night, Tourism Kelowna’s Pat Gappmayr hosted Kristi Contini, Meetings & Events Manager from Grant Thornton for a taste of the Okanagan in Toronto.
Kelowna restaurateur Mark Filatow from Waterfront Restaurant & Wine Bar along with David Paterson from Tantalus Vineyards joined Chef Wayne Morris from Boralia and Norman Hardie Winery to offer a very special evening at Boralia Restaurant in downtown Toronto.
The evening featured six courses all expertly paired giving Kristi a glimpse of how delicious meetings and events in Kelowna can be.
